    Disclosure Statement

    MISSION
    :  To fund and empower a commission on women which would advocate, advise, recommend, monitor and evaluate all issues as they affect the welfare of the women of the County and City.

    AUTHORIZATIONResolution No. 1992-35,  establishment, Board action on March 17, 1992; Articles of Incorporation adopted on June 22, 1992; Commission Bylaws/Rules/Procedures.

    MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION:  20 members - (5) The Board of Supervisors shall each appoint 1 member.  (7) The Mayor and each Council Member shall appoint 1 member.  (8) The Pima County/Tucson Women's Commission, by a majority vote of its members, shall appoint 8 members of the Commission.

    APPOINTMENT TERMS:The terms of the 5 members appointed by each Supervisor are coterminous with their terms of office or until their successors on the Commission are appointed.

    • The terms of the 7 members appointed by the Mayor and Council members are coterminous with their terms of office or until their successors on the Commission are appointed.
    • The terms of the 8 seats appointed by the Commission shall be 4 years. The Board of Supervisors and the Mayor and Council will ratify appointments made by the Pima County/Tucson Women's Commission.

    NUMBER OF MEETINGS PER YEAR:  4 minimum

    STANDARD MEETING TIME/DATE:  5:30 p.m., 3rd Tuesday of every other month
