    Buh-bye multiple laundry loads! None

Pima Animal Care Center is thrilled to have a new industrial-sized washer and dryer that will allow us to wash all of our daily laundry with just two loads, instead of the 15 it used to take using our small commercial washers.

The adoption center was able to check these items off the wish list after the Pima County Stadium District/Kino Sports Complex received new equipment and agreed to donate the older equipment, which has been well-maintained by the County and still works perfectly.

After some plumbing and utility retrofits, the new equipment will be ready to clean the blankets, towels and bedding that keep our pets comfortable. The machine also provides hotter water that will help improve sanitation and keep our pets healthier.

Better yet: With new equipment running upwards of $35,000, we didn’t have to use precious shelter resources to afford it, thanks to the generosity of the Stadium District.

“We’re trying to be as efficient as possible in delivering the best service to our community and this is another example of those efforts,” said Kim Janes, manager of Pima Animal Care Center.

“We were budgeted for replacement washers and dryers, but there was still some life in what we had so we were happy to see them get more use at Pima Animal Care,” said Stadium District Director Chris Bartos. “We try to recycle equipment whenever we can and we’re happy to help such a good cause.”
