The public is invited to the grand reopening of the renovated Picture Rocks Community Center on Tuesday, July 16.

A representative of District 3 Supervisor Sharon Bronson will attend the reopening at 5615 N. Sanders Road, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will include tours of the center and an ice cream social.
The Pima County Board of Supervisors budgeted $1.3 million last year to repair and improve eight community centers.
Pima County Facilities Management conducted a comprehensive review of all the County’s community centers with the Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation Department to compile the list of recommended improvements.
Upgrades to the Picture Rocks Community Center include:
- Ceiling tile replacement
- Interior and exterior paint
- Flooring upgrade
- Renovated multipurpose room with new flooring and paint
- Energy-efficient lighting
The Picture Rocks Community Center hosts a variety of services and programs including:
- Kids and Parents Playtime
- Summer recreation and after-school programs
- A computer lab
- Exercise, crafts, music and games programs and weekday lunches for seniors
- Public meeting space
