File: familyPima County recognizes June as Home Ownership Month. With that in mind, homeowners and first-time homebuyers can meet housing experts and find a treasure trove of information about buying and keeping an affordable, sustainable, quality home. The Pima County Housing Center will host its annual Homeownership Fair on Saturday, June 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 801 W. Congress St., in the heart of Menlo Park Neighborhood.

Sponsors include the Community Investment Corporation and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, Apex Real Estate Network, Guild Mortgage, Chase, Loan Depot, National Bank of Arizona, Nova Home Loans and Real Pros Real Estate. The event will offer workshops on budgeting, credit repair and down payment assistance; resources for current homeowners and new homebuyers and a chance to meet with HUD-certified counselors, credit experts, Realtors, mortgage lenders and housing professionals from non-profit agencies. Visitors also can get do-it-yourself advice and energy saving tips from expert Lowe’s Home Improvement and Tucson Electric Power.

The day won't be all facts and figures — kids can meet Pima County’s McGruff the Crime Dog and Tucson Water’s Pete the Beak. Parents may enter a draw for prizes provided by our generous exhibitors including Freddie Mac and the Southwest Fair Housing Council.

Refreshments will be available. Admission is free. Parking will be available at the Pima County Housing Center and across the street.
