  • Soccer and baseball returns to Kino Sports Complex June 1-3

    Kino Sports Complex offers plenty of ways to entertain family, friends, and visitors this summer without breaking the bank, starting with FC Tucson’s regular season play and the debut of the Sun Belt College Baseball League, taking place at Kino’s North and South Complex June 1-3.

    Weekend soccer action gets underway with the FC Tucson women’s team on June 1 as they face the SD Parceiro Ladies. The action continues June 2 in a match-up with the San Diego Sealions. Both games start at 5:30 p.m. and will take place in the Kino North Stadium, 3600 S. Country Club. 

    Following the women’s games, the FC Tucson men’s team takes on Ogden City SC in a two-day match June 1 – 2 at the Kino North Stadium, 3600 S. Country Club. Games kick off at 7:30 p.m. 

    General admission and reserved seating tickets available on FC Tucson’s website. Clear bag policy will apply at all games.

    Sun Belt College League

    On June 3, the Sun Belt College League plays its first game of the summer season at Kino Sports Complex. Although the league had played at Kino in previous years, 2018 marks its first time playing at Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium, 2500 E. Ajo Way.

    The Sun Belt League features eight teams, comprised of recently graduated high school players and already enrolled college players from Southern Arizona and other parts of the country. 

    Kino baseballParticipating teams include the Kings, Knights, Boom, Cochise Stars, Tucson Prospects, Tucson Champs, Team Tucson and Southern Arizona Prospects. Over the next month, they will take on collegiate squads from Boulder, Colo. and Mexico.

    The opening game of the season is set for 7 p.m. Sunday, June 3 between Knights and Boulder, Colo. General admission tickets cost $5 for adults and free for kids 12 and under. Cash only. Gates open at 6 p.m. 

    While many of the teams will play many games at the Stadium, some games will still take place on Kino’s South Fields. The admission price for those will be $4 for adults and free for kids 12 and under.

    Parking is free for all games and concession items will be available for purchase. During these events, Kino Sports Complex will enforce its clear bag policy and allow no outside food or beverages, with the exception of one store bought water bottle or sports drink.
