    Pima County Receives a 2018 Healthy Arizona Worksites Program (HAWP) Award

    HAWP AwardPima County was recognized on May 22, 2018, by the Healthy Arizona Worksite Program as achieving the Copper level of excellence in worksite wellness.

    The Healthy Arizona Worksite Award recognizes employers that are making efforts to positively affect the health and well-being of their employees, their families, and their community, by implementing comprehensive worksite wellness strategies. The minimum qualifications for consideration for this award include attending the Healthy Arizona Worksite Program training and developing a plan to improve employee health and safety.

    The Healthy Arizona Worksites Program is a public health initiative offered by the Arizona Department of Health Services and the Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH). Its mission is to help employers learn how to successfully implement worksite wellness initiatives that improve the health of their employees and businesses.     Fit & Lean Team Challenge

    Fit & Lean Team Challenge LogoAre you ready for the next summer challenge? The Fit & Lean Team Challenge is a 9-week, online team fitness and weight management challenge that will help employees rejuvenate their motivation to practice healthy behaviors to support their weight loss and maintenance goals. The challenge consists of a weigh-in/out, weekly exercise minutes tracking, and weekly fitness challenges, which add up to points for prizes! Incentives include milestone awards based on point status throughout the challenge, grand prize drawings for the top three teams, and Healthy Lifestyle Activity Points (HLAPs) based on weight loss/management results.

    Would you rather complete the challenge on your own? There will be an individual challenge option for those who do not wish to be on a team. Your name will be anonymous on the challenge leaderboard and there will be a separate grand prize drawing for the top three individuals.

    Registration and weigh-ins begin the week of June 25, 2018, and the challenge begins July 1, 2018. Pick a team of up to four, choose a Team Captain, and register!     What to Expect in Employee Benefits as we Approach FY 2018/19

    • Annual Enrollment changes are effective July 1, 2018, and will be reflected in your July 13, 2018 paycheck.
    • If you are enrolled in the medical plan, you will receive your medical/Rx combination card at your address on file by the end of June.
    • If you have questions regarding your CVS/caremark transition, you may call the toll-free customer service line at 1-888-202-1654. When you call in, press “2” for “New Member.” Please indicate that you are a Pima County employee.
    • If you are enrolled in the Health Savings Account (HSA), Pima County will fund your HSA on a bi-weekly basis, based on your medical level of coverage.
    • If you are enrolled in Deferred Compensation - 457(b), your deduction and assets will automatically transfer to the Nationwide account in partnership with Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) in early July.

Join this fun and motivating 4-week challenge that will help you to EAT SMART by offering simple suggestions to increasing your daily consumption of fruits and vegetables. The weekly log will make it easy for you to track your daily servings of fruits and vegetables. You can earn 1 point for each serving you track, which adds up quickly. Depending on how many servings you eat in one month, you can earn up to 25 HLAP.
