    Welcome

    The Consumer Health and Food Safety Office (CHFS) works with state and federal entities to educate businesses and the public on best practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This includes ensuring businesses have up-to-date guidance during the pandemic and stay aware of applicable requirements for employees and patrons. 
     
    As a public health agency CHFS strives to assist with education to help prevent the spread of foodborne illness, waterborne illness, and public health nuisances and encourages all business to follow CDC guidance on COVID-19 mitigation.

    Please note: The CHFS office will be closed on the second Wednesday of each month from 8 a.m. to noon. Please call (520) 724-7908 for assistance.


    • In-person pool certification classes have resumed.  Please look at the schedule and call our office at (520) 724-7908 to reserve your spot.  Class size is limited to 24 participants. 
    • In-person food handler certification classes will resume July 14, 2021. Please look at the schedule and call our office at (520) 724-7908 to reserve your spot. Class size is limited to 24 participants.
    • Applications for permits and guidelines for food establishments, caterers, and limited food manufacturers are available online.
    • Please call us at (520) 724-7908 to discuss plan review submissions. An appointment will be scheduled to provide additional assistance if in-person assistance is needed.
