To kick off World Breastfeeding Awareness Week, the Pima County Health Department will celebrate with a health
fair on Aug. 1 for new parents, expectant parents, caregivers and children.
Not sure how to go about nursing? Lactation consultants and pediatricians will be on hand to help at the fair, which will feature expert guest speakers and dozens of vendors.
Seeking answers about how children grow and develop in their early years? We’ll have demonstrations on play activities you can incorporate into your own household to stimulate early childhood development.
The free event will offer dental screenings, WIC enrollment and baby health checks,as well as nutrition information to make sure little ones can be as healthy as possible, right from the start.
There also will be plenty of fun, with a mobile farmer’s market, a play area for children and free raffles and giveaways, including great raffle prizes such as a baby sling, baskets of baby supplies, a Halo Swaddle Sleep Sack and breast pumps.
So mark your calendars!
