kittensFor the past month, Pima Animal Care Center has had a consistent daily cat census exceeding 200 pets, and while that’s pretty normal for this time of year, PACC officials would prefer to see these pets in loving new homes instead. To incentivize adopters, PACC has launched a $5 feline adoption promotion to last through July 22.

“We’re in the middle of kitten season, which means we have a good variety of adoptable cats and kittens every day,” said PACC Director of Animal Services Kristen Auerbach.

The $5 adoption fee applies all cats, including kittens who normally carry a $50 adoption rate. Best of all, this all-inclusive fee will include the adopted cat’s spayed or neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, a microchip and a free vet visit, too.

Individuals interested in adopting a PACC cat or kitten should visit the shelter during normal business hours, which are noon to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday or 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. By visiting in person, adopters will get to see PACC’s full selection of pets and may also do a meet and greet.

Unsure about committing to a forever pet? Consider PACC’s foster-to-adopt program instead. This program gives potential adopters the opportunity to house a pet temporarily while they determine if it’s the right fit for their family or lifestyle. Individuals interested in foster-to-adopt can ask a PACC adoption counselor or foster coordinator for more information.
