RWRD received two Arizona Public Works Association (APWA) awards at the APWA’s 2018 Statewide Conference Luncheon held August 2, 2018, at the Hilton El Conquistador. This year’s theme, “Sustaining Infrastructure in a Growing Economy,” focused on strengthening existing infrastructure while applying new methods and approaches to make infrastructure more sustainable for future users.
In keeping with the conference theme, Deputy Director of Conveyance Division Jaime Rivera and Project Manager David Badger presented, “Pima County RWRD Job Order Master (JOC) Agreement: How to Successfully Manage a Large-Scale JOC Program.” The presentation focused on how RWRD has dealt with its aging infrastructure by creating its JOC Program.
RWRD was the recipient of the Environment Category - $5 Million to $25 Million, for the North Rillito Interceptor Rehabilitation Project, led by Project Manager Noel Ortiz. RWRD also received the Environment Category - More than $75 Million, for the JOC Master Agreement: Wastewater Conveyance System Project, led by David Badger.
