Pima County represents at Emmys

There was some Pima County representation at the Rocky Mountain Emmy awards Sept. 22 in Phoenix.
Emmy Awards
KOLD/KMSB won in the Daytime or Evening-Medium Markets category for their coverage of the story “Pandemonium During Presidential Visit.” The coverage was produced by Nikki Reck (pictured right with husband Craig), now the communications specialist with Pima Animal Care Center.

In addition, a story produced by Arizona Public Media on the folklorico group Danzacultura won a Rocky Mountain Emmy in the category of Historic/Cultural-News Single Story/Series/Feature/Program. A large portion of the story (from about 6:45 on) was filmed at Pima County’s Historic Canoa Ranch, where the dancers have performed at numerous special events.

Earlier this year, the Danzacultura piece also won a regional Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio Television Digital News Association.
