  • Animal Noise Log

Before we file civil charges, you must attempt to resolve the animal noise problem through mediation with your neighbor.

Enclosed please find the ANIMAL NOISE LOG and instructions that you requested. This document will be presented to a judge or hearing officer and you will be required to swear or affirm that the entries are truthful.
    • The Pima Animal Care Center requires that at least two people who reside at different addresses be listed on the Animal Noise Log.
    • Please fill out the log as completely as possible.
    • Please print or type the information clearly.
    • When the animal or bird is making noise it is imperative to determine which animal or bird is making the noise and to note such on your log. This determination will enable you and your neighbors to testify that it was the animal or bird in question that was making the noise rather than another animal or bird in the niegborhood.
    • Be sure to include the animal breed, color and name (if known)
    • Be sure to use specific dates and durations of the noise with start and stop times. Do not run durations together. You must prove frequent and continous animal noise as stated in the noise ordinance. Example: If a dog barked from 8:00 AM until 8:25 AM and then started barking again at 8:48 AM and stopped at 9:12 AM and this pattern continues until 6:00 PM, you must enter each time frame separately. Do not list 8:00 AM till 6:00 PM or your log will be rejected. Use a separate sheet of paper to continue your log if necessary.
    • Please mark all times as AM or PM or use military time.
    • We suggest you include a minimum of 5 consecutive days with more than one entry per day. The more entiries, the better the log.
    • Illegible or incomplete logs will not be accepted and will be returned to you.
    • The written evidence you provide will be used to issue a third party citation to the animal. owner for the violation of the animal noise ordinance, with you as the complainant.
    • If the citation results in a hearing you will be notified to appear and testify.
    • Do not send any other correspondence with your log. Any other documents you have may be presented as evidence during the hearing.
    • After completeing the log. Keep a copy for your records and return the log to the Pima Animal Care Center at 4000 N Silverbell Rd 85745 - Attention: Civil Processes Unit.
