  • It's time to Party with the Pets!

    PACCSunday, Dec. 2 • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    Thanks to County voters who approved proposition 415 in 2014, Pima Animal Care Center now operates from a state-of-the-art animal care facility that meets modern-day standards and is equipped to save more lives. Join us from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, to celebrate this long-awaited milestone and see the improvements your tax dollars made! 

    We'll have behind-the-scenes tours, activities for kids, music, giveaways, adoption specials, a dedication ceremony and more! This is a free event. Food available for purchase. See details below.

    Dedication Ceremony: noon to 1 p.m.
    • Speakers include: PACC Director Kristen Auerbach, Pima County Board of Supervisors Chairman Richard Elías, County Administrator Chuck Huckelberry, Oro Valley Councilmember Rhonda Piña, Friends of PACC Chair Tammi Barrick and PACC advocate Laura O'Brien. 
    • Celebratory cake to follow. 
    adoptable petsActivities for all ages (happening all day):
    • Petting Zoo: visit with PACC puppies and kittens and farm animals from local rescue partners.
    • Glitter Tattoos: sport your favorite animal design with a little added sparkle! 
    • PACC Rocks Project: help us brand PACC around the community by painting a river rock.
    • Treats for PACC pets: make yummy treats for our shelter pets.
    • PACC's Toy Shop: make enrichment toys to keep our pets happy.
    • NRPR's Urban Wildlife Exhibit: this interactive exhibit will teach you how to coexist with wildlife in an urban setting.
    • Pima County Public Library Bookmobile: kids get a free book and can sign up to read to PACC cats.
    • Canine Fun Camp and Dog Play Groups
    toursBehind the Scenes Tours:
    • Sign up for a tour and see the non-public areas of PACC where all the lifesaving magic happens. 
    • Tours will be available on a first-come, first-served basis every hour through the duration of the event.
    Scheduled Events/Activities/Demonstrations:
    • PACC Trivia: let's put your knowledge about PACC to the test for a chance to win prizes. 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
    • Shopping for Fido and Fifi: get everything your pet needs at the store without breaking the bank. 1:45 p.m.
    • Cat Clicker Training: learn how you can get your cat to give you a high-five and more. 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
    • PACC Saved Me testimonials: meet some of our "top save" pets and hear their story. Hourly
