Green Wash

To provide comments on this watershed for consideration in the Floodplain Management Plan, contact Greg Saxe

This watershed is tributary to the Lower Santa Cruz River. It originates just north of the Tohono O’odham Nation boundary and terminates south of the community of Arizona City in Pinal County. The Greene Wash watershed drains the Sawtooth Mountains on the West and the Santa Cruz River Flats on the east. Beyond the Tohono O’odham traditional farming community of Chu Chui and Arizona City, the USGS maps do not show the wash as it sinks into the deep alluvium farmlands. This watershed is comprised of 62,194 acres and contains 3,278 acres of SFHA and 4,592 acres of Pima County Regulated Riparian Habitat.
