NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Divisionals at Tucson Dragway

Tucson Dragway joins the top tier of drag racing facilities in the U.S. as it hosts the first leg of the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series’s Pacific Division competition. The Lucas Oil series, the premier Sportsman racing program in motorsports, features competitors in a variety of classifications including Comp, Stock, Super Comp, Super Stock, Super Gas, Super Street, Top Dragster, Top Sportsman and Sportsman Motorcycle.
General admission tickets run $45 for the entire weekend.

Mobile Mini Sun Cup Finale
The eighth season of Major League Soccer Spring Training wraps up at Kino North Stadium with a tripleheader of games.
The action kicks off with the New York Red Bulls taking on FC Dallas, followed by Phoenix Rising FC versus the OKC Energy in the afternoon and the Portland Timbers facing off with Real Salt Lake in the nightcap.
Tickets are good for all three sessions.

One Seed Pima County Cooking Class
The Garden Kitchen hosts a special cooking class featuring the Kala Chana Garbanzo bean, chosen as the One Seed Pima County program’s seed of 2018. One Seed Pima County celebrates the resilient foods we can grow together. The class aims to give participants the opportunity to discover new ways to prepare the garbanzos, also known as chickpeas. A recipe handout and samples will be available to participants.
The class is free but space is limited, please register online.

Bicycle Traffic Skills 101
WHEN: 6 - 8:30 p.m.
WHERE: Tucson Endurance Performance Center, 6448 N. Oracle Rd.
DESCRIPTION: This two-part course is a primer for those cyclists who wish to gain a full understanding of how to safely operate a bicycle in a variety of situations. Lessons include safety and repairs, state and local laws and riding gear. Participants will go for a ride and practice bike safety skills in a parking lot. Recommended for adults and youth ages 16 and up; ages 13 to 15 permitted with a parent. Participants will receive a choice of free item from the list of safety items and will receive front/rear reflective bike tape and a free patch kit. Part two of the course is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 23, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the same location.

DESCRIPTION: Hosted by the Pima County Sheriff's Department, this drive-through event will allow members of the public to have up to five containers of documents shredded at no charge. Acceptable items for shredding are any personal paper documents that are loose, folded, stapled, or in envelopes. Shredding will be completed on-site before you leave. Documents from businesses and personal videos, cassettes, CDs, DVDs, photographs, photo slides, and credit cards will not be accepted.

Tobacco Ordinance Stakeholder Meetings

DESCRIPTION: The Pima County Health Department hosts a series of community meetings to discuss proposed changes to County ordinances regarding tobacco use, including raising the minimum legal age to purchase tobacco products from 18 to 21 years old; creating a retail permit system for tobacco retailers in unincorporated sections of the County; amending language to the current smoking ordinance to include electronic nicotine delivery systems. Additional meetings will be held Tuesday, Feb. 26, 3 p.m., Flowing Wells Library, 1730 W.
