Introducing the newly enhanced Healthy Lifestyle Premium Discount program

Pima County Employee Wellness is pleased to announce the newly enhanced Healthy Lifestyle Premium Discounts program effective March 1, 2019. Pima County will continue to reward employees for making healthy decisions, but now there’s a new way to earn the discounts. Between the dates of March 1, 2019 and February 28, 2020 (the reporting period for the 2020/21 discounts that are distributed July 1, 2020) the new structure will be:

•Discount #1 – Be Tobacco Free ($20 per pay period)
◦Certified during 2020 Spring Annual Enrollment

•Discount #2 – Earn up to 150 Healthy Lifestyle Activity Points by participating in your choice of various wellness challenges, preventive exams and other eligible programs.
            ◦Level 1: 50 points (earn a total of $5 per pay period)
            ◦Level 2: 100 points (earn a total of $10 per pay period)
            ◦Level 3: 150+ points (earn a total of $15 per pay period)

Preventive exams/screenings and the health assessment now have an assigned points value and will be an option instead of a requirement. The full menu of eligible programs, events and activities and their assigned points can be found on the Healthy Lifestyle Premium Discounts webpage. Employee Wellness is always adding to this list, so check back often to see what sparks your interest along your health and wellness journey.

Learn more about these changes and get answers to your Benefits questions by attending a workshop near you in March. Click here for the schedule of workshops and webinar. For webinar information, please email Employee Wellness.

Per Administrative Procedure 23-30, employees are encouraged to attend these classes and programs. Employees may be allowed to flex their time, where needed, and/or may be allowed a maximum of thirty minutes of paid work time per program, not to exceed four programs in a calendar year.

Mobile Skin Cancer Screenings, Coming To A Location Near You

Assured Imaging will be onsite during March and April to conduct skin cancer screenings for eligible participants. These screenings are open to all Pima County employees and dependents 18 years or older on the County medical insurance plan and are covered at 100% no cost to the participant.
Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States. One in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. One of the best ways you can protect your health is to get your skin checked to identify any cancerous or pre-cancerous growths on your skin. When cancer is found at an early stage, it is often easier to treat!

    • Skin Cancer Screenings are done in a private room on board a mobile screening coach. Service includes full-body skin cancer screening with pre-malignant skin lesion removal (with liquid nitrogen).*
    • Immediate results/ recommendations and consultation with a Nurse Practitioner specializing in dermatology.
    • Full body skin cancer screenings are encouraged. However, the exams can be tailored to each person's comfort level or area of concern.

These skin cancer screenings are covered 100% for eligible participants. *However, deductibles and co-insurance will apply for removal of any pre-cancerous lesions. It will be your responsibility for any of these extra charges. Please bring your medical insurance card and photo ID to your exam.

Schedule your appointment at www.assuredimaging.com/PIMA or call 888-233-6121.
