Picture of catDiscover the benefits of pet ownership and help the shelter make space for incoming animals by adopting a new friend from Pima Animal Care Center. Through the end of May PACC is celebrating National Pet Month by offering a name your own adoption fee on all pets four months and older.

This offer is a win-win for pets and people across Pima County. Aside from being great companions, pets promote health benefits in their owners, too. They can help manage stress, prevent loneliness, increase fitness levels and increase overall happiness.

But, don’t let us tell you. Find out for yourself.

With 130 pets coming to the shelter each day, PACC has the largest variety of pets available for adoption, including puppies and kittens. Adopt one older than four months and you can name your own adoption fee through May 31. Plus, your pet will come spayed or neutered, with age-appropriate vaccinations, a microchip and a free vet visit. A separate $19 licensing fee will apply to dogs.

Can’t adopt a pet full time? It’s OK. Fostering a pet temporarily can promote the same health benefits and boost those much-needed happiness endorphins, too. Learn more about fostering online or visit the shelter in person.

PACC is located at 4000 N. Silverbell Road, open Monday through Friday, noon-7 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends.
