Classic car enthusiasts can stroll among vintage automobiles in a historic setting at the first Canoa Cup Collector Car Show taking Classic carplace 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 21 at Historic Canoa Ranch in Green Valley. Cost is $5 per person.

More than 50 classic vehicles will be on hand for the event, which also will feature food, music, drinks and vendors. Proceeds will benefit the restoration and preservation of Canoa Ranch, managed by Pima County Natural Resources, Parks & Recreation and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Classic car owners can register their vehicles for the show for a $25 fee. Register online by Sept. 12 at pima.gov/canoaranch or by calling 520-724-5234.

Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite vehicle. The top vote-getter will take home the first-ever Canoa Cup Trophy. Second-and third-place finishers will receive certificates.

The entry gate to Historic Canoa Ranch is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for access to the newly restored Canoa Lake and the Anza Trail. Open hours at the ranch are 8-11 a.m. Saturdays when tours are scheduled. Visit www.pima.gov/canoaranch for tour schedules and other info.

In 2001, Pima County purchased and began to restore the 4,800-acre Canoa Ranch complex with voter-approved 1997 and 2004 bond funds. Pima County opened the ranch headquarters to the public in March 2013. The property is managed by the Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation Department.
