picture of mobile vet vanPima Animal Care Center is proud to host Dr. Kelly’s Mobile Vet on Sept. 30 from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the overflow parking lot at the shelter. The van is equipped with hospital-grade surgical equipment.

Dr. Kelly’s offers a variety of services like spay and neuter surgeries, mass removals, dental care, microchipping, vaccinations, and some other surgeries. Costs range from $10 to around $800. People interested in having their pet seen that day should start filling out the forms before the event.

“These are exactly the types of events our community wants,” said Kristen Hassen-Auerbach, Director of Animal Services. “All of our vaccine and microchip clinics have had huge turnouts and pet owners always ask us about low cost surgery options. We are so happy to be a parking spot for Dr. Kelly’s so that these pet owners can get their pets the care they need without having to worry about the cost.”

Pets are anesthetized and monitored through certain procedures and for surgery. Once the pet is given the all-clear, pet owners can take them home. Surgeries often only take a few hours and pet owners are expected to pick up their pets within 30 minutes of their discharge time, as space is limited in the van.

The team has been providing services since 2016. Dr. Kelly’s doesn’t make house calls, but does park at various locations throughout the communities they serve. For questions, just head to their website.
