Pima County Supervisor Ally Miller, District 1, and the Pima County departments of Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation, and Facilities Management invite the public to the grand reopening of the renovated Catalina Community Center on Saturday,
Sept. 21.

“With these improvements, the Catalina Community Center will be even more able to improve the quality of life for Catalina families, seniors and young people,” Miller said. “I’m proud that Pima County has invested in this important resource in Catalina and in other unincorporated communities.”
A ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. will be followed by tours of the center at 16562 N. Oracle Road in Catalina and refreshments.
The Pima County Board of Supervisors budgeted $1.3 million last year to repair and improve eight community centers.
Facilities Management conducted a comprehensive review of all the County’s community centers with Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation to compile a list of recommended improvements.
Upgrades to the Catalina Community Center include:
- Air conditioning
- Ceiling tile replacement
- Interior and exterior paint
- New flooring
- Restroom improvements to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act
- Energy-efficient lighting
- New fire alarm system
The Catalina Community Center hosts a variety of free services and programs including:
- Kids and Parents Playtime
- After-school programs for ages 5-13
- Teen programs
