How are committee members selected?
The Pima County Department of Transportation selects new committee members to represent Pima County on the Bicycle Advisory Committee based on the information submitted in the committee member application. It will assess applicants based on the quality and diversity of knowledge and skills they would bring to the Committee. Pima County and City of Tucson employees are ineligible to serve as voting committee members of the Bicycle Advisory Committee.
What is required of committee members?
Pima County committee members serve two (2) year terms on the committee, from the date of appointment. The Committee usually holds ten (10) meetings per year held on the second Wednesday of the month from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tucson City Council Ward 6 office or Himmel Park Library. Regular attendance is required, and committee members will be removed if they are absent for four (4) consecutive meetings or fail to attend at least forty percent (40%) of meetings in a calendar year. New committee members also must take a Loyalty Oath of Office, in accordance with Arizona Statute.
