Members of the Tucson Arizona West Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will participate in a community service project, cleaning the Santa Cruz riverbed and area parks from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on October 19.

The event is in cooperation with the City of Tucson Ward 1 Council Office, Tucson Parks and Recreation, Pima County, and Tucson Clean and Beautiful.

Planning for the needs of the workers and assigned staff has spanned the last several months, and has included representatives of the above-named organizations.

Volunteers will be working to clean up 12 Westside parks, making this the largest single-day volunteer cleanup effort this year. It is expected that a minimum of 400 people will participate. Adults, youth and children will be performing age-appropriate tasks to help remove trash and green waste from designated areas.
