The IRS announced a policy change for relief checks that applies to people receiving Social Security, Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and Railroad Retirement benefits who have dependent children.
If you didn't file a 2018 or 2019 tax return, the IRS has no knowledge of any dependent children in your care and you will not receive the $500 you are entitled to under the CARES Act.
