  • County postpones registration for summer programs at community centers

    Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation has postponed registration for summer programs at seven of its community centers. Registration for the programs, aimed at children age 5 to 12, was scheduled to begin April 28 at 6 a.m.

    The affected programs are at the following locations:

    Staff is delaying registration for these programs until they have better information and guidance on program operation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Information will be posted on the NRPR website as it becomes available, so those seeking to register are urged to check the site frequently.

    All of the 13 community centers operated by Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation are closed per Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy, Stay Connected” Executive Order. Traditionally, those community centers have offered programs for residents ranging from pre-school age to senior citizens. Many of the community centers also host meetings and community services, offer computer labs and fitness classes and other social services.
