Following the April 21 meeting of the Pima County Board of Supervisors, County Administrator Chuck Huckelberry established a reopening Steering Committee called Pima County Back-to-Business (PCB2B) involving all sectors that were affected by the various Executive Orders and other directives necessary to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in Pima County. The Steering Committee is led by County Administrator Chuck Huckelberry and University of Arizona President Bobby Robbins.
The Steering Committee and the other subcommittees helped the county establish a framework of hygiene and physical distancing standards for the business reopening process in a limited, phased manner. The Committees continue to assist and advise the County as needed as the struggle against the effects of the pandemic continue.
Businesses: Report positive COVID-19 tests of employees
Based on actions taken by the Board of Supervisors on Dec. 4, it is mandatory for businesses to report to the health department a positive COVID-19 test of any employee. In numerous instances, the Health Department has identified outbreaks at businesses only after completing contact-tracing investigations. This action will allow infectious disease investigators to help businesses earlier in an outbreak in order to provide guidance, education, and support to businesses to better protect their staff and the public.
Community: Report non-compliance of mask mandate
Under revisions made Dec. 4 to
Pima County Resolution 2020-96, establishments that are open to the public and in which continuous physical distancing of at least six feet between persons cannot be easily maintained
must refuse to allow a person who is not wearing a face covering from entering the establishment (as long as that person is not exempt under Section 2). The business also
must request that a person inside the establishment leave if not exempt under Section 2 and is not wearing a face covering.

The County has adopted a set of minimum protective health and safety measures for restaurants, bars, fitness centers, and hotel and resort pools to follow.
