The Pima County Health Department now offers routine vaccines, including flu shots, for adults age 19 through 64 who have no insurance or whose insurance does not cover vaccination.
Vaccines are provided while supplies last by the Arizona Department of Health Services at Health Department clinics across the community Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
“As we begin the flu season, it’s a perfect time for adults to remember to get protected with the best tool we have today – the flu vaccination,” said Dr. Francisco García, Health Department Director. “It’s a great time as well to think about booster shots, like the Tdap, to protect you and your family against whooping cough, which we are seeing again this season.”
Vaccinations are available by appointment; walk-ins are welcome. Be sure to bring your personal ID and insurance or AHCCCS card if you have one.
The only vaccine not currently available at our clinics is Zostavax, given for shingles. It’s recommended to contact your primary care physician or pharmacy if you are interested in receiving this vaccine.
Vaccinations are also available for children and adolescents up to age 18.
While there is no fee for these vaccines, children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who needs to bring immunization records and insurance or AHCCCS cards for each child.
