Act with Confidence
Don’t let fear of COVID-19 keep you from making a safe decision. With wildfire, monsoon, and flood season upon us, Pima County and our community partners, including the Red Cross of Southern Arizona, are working to protect everyone affected by other incidents.
Together, we are working to avoid congregate sheltering arrangements.
If your home is in an area under Go! status from the Pima County Office of Emergency Management or Sheriff’s Department, help us mitigate the risk of spreading COVID-19 by:
- Using facial tissue to cover your cough, sneeze, tears – we know that if you are close to a fire, you may experience more irritants than normal
- Tell staff if you have been diagnosed with COVID-19
- Tell staff if you are waiting for test results for COVID-19
If you are at higher risk for complications due to COVID-19, including certain diagnoses, alert staff at the evacuation center of your medical conditions.
Many symptoms of chronic respiratory conditions are often made worse with smoke from a wildfire. We will work with you to get you in a safe shelter, only housed with people you already live with.
