  • Pima County PPE Business Assistance

Pima County is supporting businesses that might need help in acquiring Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for employees.

Food prep The County has opened a fifth round of assistance after delivering PPE to 289 businesses in the first four waves of the program. Priority in this round goes to businesses applying for the first time. Businesses that already obtained PPE through this program can submit another request and receive supplies, if available.

This Countywide program follows the success of a pilot program launched June 24 in which the County teamed up with Downtown Tucson Partnership to assist downtown businesses in an effort to speed their recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Businesses requesting assistance will receive a pre-sorted allotment of PPE – which may include hand sanitizer, gloves, and masks – based on their number of employees. This service is designed to serve as a backstop for employers, and is only available to businesses with fewer than 50 employees.

All businesses are encouraged to first source and procure PPE on their own. There is also a list of potential vendors who may have supplies available. This is for informational purposes only and is not an endorsement of any particular vendor.

    How to Request PPE

A request form must be completed in order to obtain a supply of non-medical PPE (cloth face masks, non-medical grade gloves, and hand sanitizer). Be ready to provide your business ID, number of employees (full and part time), and contact information.

    Key Dates

    • December 7 – Survey is open for business requests
    • December 31 – Survey is closed
    • Distribution will occur on a rolling basis as requests are approved.

This is a first-come, first-served program, and requests will be filled until PPE runs out for the County’s allotment of business assistance.

The County’s decision to assist businesses with PPE was intially in response to the June 19 decision of the Pima County Board of Supervisors to enact a countywide public health resolution requiring that face coverings be worn in public if six feet of physical distancing can’t be maintained. The Board on Dec. 4 strengthened measures to control the spread of COVID-19, including a mask mandate.

Healthcare providers, schools, child care providers, and first responders should not request PPE through this avenue. If those groups are in need of PPE, they should email EOCLogistics@pima.gov.

    Notice of Reselling PPE

Reselling PPE acquired through this program is strictly prohibited. To report someone who is selling PPE acquired through this service, email EOCLogistics@pima.gov.
