Free COVID testing available

As a reminder, employees may use up to one hour of regular work hours to get free COVID-19 testing, which the County is offering at three sites around Tucson and several mobile sites expected to be added in the coming weeks.

All testing is by appointment only. Sites are:
Ellie Towne CenterThe Kino and Udall sites are operated by Paradigm Laboratories and offer nasal swab tests. The Ellie Towne site is run by Arizona State University and offers saliva tests.

Regular work hours should be used if the employee is asymptomatic. Employees who are exhibiting symptoms are sick and should stay home and isolate; therefore, they should use any available Pandemic Outbreak Leave, Federal Emergency Paid Sick Time, or sick time to be tested.

For employees that either experience symptoms or are directed to quarantine due to a close contact exposure, a negative test is not required to return to work.  Instead, any employee who is experiencing symptoms or is required to quarantine, is required to remain out of work for the full 14 days.

Appointments generally do not take longer than 15 minutes.

To register for a test, go to pima.gov/covid19testing and click on the Schedule My Test link.

Results are expected within 72 hours.
