ECAP connecting in new ways

County employees have already pledged more than $52,000 to this year’s Employees Care About Pima County (ECAP) Campaign. The campaign launched Sept. 1 and will run through Nov. 30.

Last year’s effort raised more than $300,000. This year’s goal is $330,000.

The need is great due to the pandemic, a topic County Administrator Chuck Huckelberry discussed in his video message and memo to employees. COVID also has forced the ECAP committee to get creative when it comes to connecting employees to opportunities to give.

“This year, we weren’t able to physically connect our agencies with employees at the traditional campaign kick-off event,” Ray Velez, ECAP committee chairman, said. “So we decided to do it electronically.”

Visit the ECAP Agency Videos webpage, part of the ECAP intranet site, to view more than four dozen videos from community agencies from the American Diabetes Association to Youth on Their Own.

Not sure where you want to direct your donation? The ECAP intranet site also has a full list of agencies with phone numbers and links to their websites so you can do your own research.

Make your gift on the United Way/Pima County ECAP site. There are over 250 agencies listed on the site. Remember you can give by payroll deduction or credit card when giving online or by cash or check if you go through your departmental solicitor. You can also download a standard pledge form or a fillable pledge form.

Thanks for helping your community!
