If you’re considering a new pet, Pima Animal Care Center encourages you to visit our adoption center, where all adoption fees will be set at $0 for the holidays.none

Through New Year’s Day, adopters will pay only the $15 licensing fee for our dogs. A pet’s unconditional love is priceless, but even beyond that, this adoption special makes our pets a remarkable deal, since all adoptions come with spay or neuter surgery, if needed, as well as vaccinations, microchips and a free vet visit at participating clinics. The adoption fee before the special was $60.

We currently have 166 dogs and 38 cats available for adoption and the majority have spent more than two weeks in our care. That daily census is still too high for our aging facility to comfortably accommodate while we wait for the installation of a commercial-grade, high-quality tent facility that will double our available kennel space.

“Holidays are a time of generosity and compassion. We would love to see the Tucson region open hearts and homes to these animals so they can have warmth and love during this special time of year,” said Pima Animal Care Center Manager Kim Janes. “Ultimately, the most effective way to make sure we no longer have to confront chronic overcrowding is to stem the tide of animals through increased spay/neuter efforts. We can do this.”

Those who want to help our mission may donate to one of our special programs, including funds to increase the availability of spay/neuter or to provide additional medical services for our pets.

Donations to Pima Animal Care Center are tax deductible under Internal Revenue Code § 170(c)(1).

Meanwhile, stay posted for our tent housewarming event early next year!
