The Library, which will be located at 10931 W. Mary Ann Cleveland Way, will be named W. Anne Gibson-Esmond Station Library. The Library will primarily serve residents of the greater Vail area, including Corona de Tucson, Vail, and Rita Ranch.

Gibson is a well-known community member and a tireless champion for bringing a library to the greater Vail area. She is also the president and co-chair of the newly formed Friends of the W. Anne Gibson-Esmond Station Library.

At the Nov. 17 Board meeting, District 4 Supervisor Steve Christy and Vail area residents in attendance lauded Gibson for her civic involvement and contributions to the community.

In addition to renaming of library, Pima County Board of Supervisors also led in the singing of “Happy Birthday” to Gibson, who was celebrating her birthday.

An opening of the W. Anne Gibson-Esmond Station Library has not yet been scheduled, because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
