The Mount Lemmon Community Center was completed in August of 2008 as part of the 2004 GO Bond Program for Public Health and Community Facilities. This center services a remote residential area with limited recreation and meeting space options other than this facility. The community highly utilizes the space, and had identified some improvements and had asked Pima County to perform these upgrades as funds are available. The 2004 GO Bond program had a remaining allocation that was appropriate to help meet these needs.

The Community Center was evaluated by both staff and the local community, and a list of projects in priority order was developed. This list will exceed the funding available currently, so only a portion of the developed prioritization list was addressed.

The developed list includes the following priority items: new shut off valve at water meter, repair/replace eave heater electrical tape system, re-key exterior doors to main room & storage to separate rental access, purchase 20 new 8’ tables/ 100 folding chairs w/ dollies, fix exterior entry walls and stairs, repair window coverings, add window tint to upper windows, add key-code lock box on exterior wall for main room access, and miscellaneous other rehab items. Additional wish list items have been identified if funding allows.
