The Pima County Health Department continues its contact tracing efforts to notify the public of possible exposures they may have had with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
As part of these efforts, contact tracers will now call from local phone numbers. People receiving calls from contact tracers will now see 520 area codes and 724 prefixes on their caller IDs.

The Health Department is not sharing the full phone numbers the public will see if they get called in order to prevent people from proactively calling the contact tracers even if they haven’t been exposed to the virus.

The public is encouraged to answer calls from contact tracers so they can be warned of possible exposure to someone who tested positive for COVID-19 and take appropriate actions to protect themselves, their loved ones, and the community. Contact tracing also helps to connect potentially exposed people to medical resources.

Contact tracing is confidential and people’s names and other information is not shared. The information collected is treated as a private medical record. Additionally, contact tracers will never ask for Social Security numbers, bank information, or other unrelated financial information.
