  • Employees donate more than $282,000 to ECAP campaign

More than 55 percent of County employees gave to the 2020 Employees Care About Pima County (ECAP) Campaign, donating $282,201 to agencies assisting kids, seniors, pets and more.

The campaign officially ended Dec. 18, though employees can make gifts year-round by completing a pledge form electronically or on paper. Send completed forms to Judy Cooper, Procurement, 150 W. Congress, 5th floor.

“This was a year unlike any other, yet our employees stepped up in service to the people of Pima County,” said County Administrator Chuck Huckelberry. “To see our folks go the extra mile and dig deep to make financial contributions to the many ECAP agencies is especially gratifying.”

“The Campaign was an unqualified success given all the Covid-19 issues employees were faced with throughout the campaign,” noted outgoing ECAP Chair Ray Velez. “We’re extremely proud of the fact that we came very close to hitting our 2019 total of $305,440, when there was no pandemic.”

Judy Cooper, Procurement, who has served on the ECAP committee since June 2019, succeeds Velez as chair.

Look for an announcement later this spring of the departments and units who performed the best in this year’s campaign. Find year-round information on ECAP on the web.
