  • You can help our sustainability efforts THRIVE

Many of you know me as the Green Geek who writes a monthly column for Pima County’s external newsletter, PCFYI. I’m here to make a special announcement for just Pima County employees!

I’m excited to finally share with you the news of an upcoming sustainability training program, called THRIVE, that has been quietly crafted by the Sustainability Programs Division, the College of Architecture (CAPLA) at the University of Arizona, and Mrs. SunriseGreen’s World (MGW), also known as “the disruptors for good.” You must check out MGW website and see for yourself why this isn’t going to be any ordinary training program!

Founder Gina Murphy-Darling and her team are going to make learning about sustainability and climate change an unforgettable experience. With the intention of sowing knowledge and passion about green stewardship here in Pima County, the THRIVE team will be conducting a live (and of course virtual) learning experience, including guest appearances by sustainability experts and scientists. Those who complete the program will be crowned our Green Stewards, a new community of County employees that will help all of us be more sustainable in County operations.

Are you interested? When does the program start?

Before the training program kicks off, the THRIVE team would love to hear what matters to you to ensure the material presented is impactful and best fits your needs. Think about the survey as a pre-fitness program assessment. We want to hear your thoughts, concerns, and experiences (past, present, and future) about and with sustainability.

Click here to take the survey.

It is completely anonymous and will take you about 10 minutes. If you are interested in participating in the program or have further questions, you will have a chance to submit your desire to participate and any other questions you may have. (Note: This intake form is independent of the survey and will be used by the Sustainability Programs Division. Your information will not be connected to the survey.)

On behalf of the THRIVE team, we thank you and look forward to seeing you soon!
