Data is critical to guide the Community Mental Health and Addiction Program's mission and to inform community agencies, healthcare providers, and policy makers to better understand local patterns. The CMHA team tracks local trends in self-harm, deaths by suicide, fatal and non-fatal drug overdoses, and neonatal abstinence syndrome. Data is collected from multiple sources and critical indicators associated with these public health concerns are closely monitored. The team meets regularly to review data and identify trends that require further observation and/or follow up actions (e.g. health alerts to providers).
