CMHA provides support services via community and rapid response outreach to individuals at high-risk of an overdose by linking them to appropriate care and treatment services.

Overdose Prevention Outreach

Community outreach is provided to individuals at high-risk for overdose, including those who have recently experienced an overdose.  Case Managers can provide Narcan kits, educational materials, and warm handoffs to treatment providers.

Rapid Response

CMHA contracts with partner organizations to offer peer navigation services to individuals presenting in local hospitals, emergency departments, jail settings, or similar short-term stabilization units due to substance-related concerns. The goal is to engage these individuals, who are experiencing a period of abstinence, as they are at a higher risk of an overdose following their release from any of these settings.
