When you’re a pet looking for a new home, those love connections just can’t come fast enough. none

And the online dating scene? You know how that can be.
So Pima Animal Care Center is trying something new on Feb. 15, in honor of Valentine’s Day weekend.

We’ll be hosting a pet speed dating event, where prospective owners will spend a few minutes with a sampling of our most eligible bachelors and bachelorettes.

We’ve got lots of great pets looking for that second chance at love.
Some like long walks in the park. Some like snuggling on the couch. Our knowledgeable volunteers will be on hand to chaperone and provide sage guidance to those looking for forever partners.

Prospective pet owners will have a chance to spend 5 minutes with each pet that meets certain basic criteria, and can then go on a “master date” with their favorite pick by walking around the park and getting to know one another a little better.

Assignment Editors: If you’re looking for a new spin on Valentine’s Day itself, we’ll be holding a Wet Kisses & Furry Love Day Spa event at 2.p.m. in the parking lot to make sure our pets look their best for their big dates the next day. Groomers and volunteers will be equipped with brushes, nail polish and boas and various adornments so it should provide great visuals on Feb. 14.

Pet speed dating kicks off Saturday, Feb. 15 at noon until 3 p.m.

Pet adoption fees will be waived all weekend long!

And even though the adoption center is typically closed for Presidents’ Day, Feb. 17, a County holiday, we’ll be open for pet adoptions from noon until 3 p.m!
