It’s long been understood that pets are actually great social connectors, providing opportunities for interactions between neighbors and other community members. none

Our warm, cuddly bundles of fur are great at breaking the ice. We’ve seen it at every community dog walk we’ve hosted.

So Pima Animal Care Center is holding our first ever Single Mingle Community Dog Walk – just for the unattached on Sunday, Feb. 23.

You’ll have a chance to meet others in a fun, casual atmosphere by taking our dogs out for a walk at the scenic park behind our adoption center, or helping socialize our cats.

The shelter is closed to the public that day for deep cleaning, so any connection with our pets is a way to help them get socialization, exercise and a break from monotony – and that makes them better candidates for adoption.

We’ll gather in front of the adoption center at 10 a.m. for light refreshments before we begin walking and cuddling. It’s a chance to get some fresh air, make friends and meet others – and if you connect on some other level, that’s great too.

Participants are asked to RSVP so we have enough volunteers on hand to assist.
