For the 17th consecutive year, the Pima County Procurement Department has received the Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award from the National Procurement Institute, Inc.

The department is one of just 10 agencies in Arizona and one of 42 counties in the United States and Canada to receive the award in 2021.

The award, now in its 26th year, is earned annually by organizations that achieve a high score based on standardized criteria that measure state-of-the-art best practices such as innovation, professionalism, productivity, e-procurement and leadership.

Procurement Director Terri Spencer said receiving this prestigious award validates the outstanding performance and practices of the Procurement Department and its dedicated, professional staff that strives for continuous improvement for the citizens of Pima County.

Spencer said, “I appreciate that the award process allows us to continuously review and improve our processes for best practices, which, in turn, allows us to provide excellent customer service to our client departments and the public that we serve.”
