    Family Planning
    We want to assist you in making healthy choices about the right time to have children. Pima County Clinics offer reproductive health and family planning services for women, men and teens. This program is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services through the Arizona Family Health Partnership. Fees are on a sliding scale based on income, but no one is refused service because of inability to pay.

    • Clients are seen on a walk-in basis
    • Wait times can vary
    • Sliding fee scale based on income
    • Minors do not need parental consent

    • Females who are within age and capable of having children are eligible for services
    • Teens are welcome

    At Family Planning, women can get:

    • Birth control methods – Birth Control Pills, Intrauterine Device (IUD), Depo Provera Shot (DEPO), Implants, Condoms, Ring and Cycle Beads (Natural Family Planning)
    • Emergency contraceptive pills – Emergency contraceptive pills (ECPs), also known as the morning after pill, are available at our offices. If taken within 72 – 120 hours of unprotected sex (a condom breaks, pills are forgotten), they can greatly reduce the risk of pregnancy.
    • Pregnancy testing and counseling
    • Breast exams – If abnormalities are detected, referrals are given to the Well Woman HealthCheck program.
    • Examinations – Pelvic and/or pap tests as needed.
    • Abnormal Pap smear treatment – If the results of your Pap Smear are abnormal, we will refer you to their Colposcopy Clinic or suggest a treatment plan according to your needs.
    • STI Screening and Treatment - Remember, many STIs have no symptoms.
    • Counseling and education - We want to give you all the information you need to make educated and healthy choices in planning a family.

    The Well Woman HealthCheck Program (WWHP) is a free breast and cervical cancer screening and diagnostic program for uninsured or underinsured women in Arizona.

    To increase women's access to and utilization of quality screening and diagnostic services to decrease morbidity and mortality from breast and cervical cancer among women who are at risk due to age, medical conditions, income or inadequate access to medical care.

    Services provided:

    • Mammogram
    • Clinical breast exam
    • Pap test and pelvic exam
    • HPV testing
    • Colposcopy, cryosurgery and LEEP
    • Fine needle aspiration
    • Biopsy
    • Case management
    • Referral for treatment, if needed
    • Translation

    Breast and Cervical Cancer Treatment Program (BCCTP):

    In Arizona, uninsured women diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer on or after August 2, 2012 may be able to receive comprehensive treatment through the Breast and Cervical Cancer Treatment Program (BCCTP) provided by the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS).

    Your License Plate Can Help Save a Life!

    Help provide vital breast and cervical cancer screening and diagnostic services to uninsured women throughout Arizona by purchasing a specialty Pink Ribbon/Cancer Awareness License Plate.     Male Services

    • Males who are within age and capable of having children are eligible for services
    • Teens are welcome

    Pima County Health Department Male ServicesAt Family Planning, men can get:

    • Counseling and education - we want to give you all the information you need to make educated and healthy choices for your family planning needs. 
    • Condom supplies and information on the correct use of condoms
    • Information and counseling on birth control methods, including vasectomy (male sterilization), and information for your partner
    • Emergency contraception (if a condom fails or no condom was used)
    • Sexually transmitted infection education, testing and treatment. Remember, many STIs have no symptoms
    • Information and counseling about testicular cancer and prostate health

    Women's Health Services and Family Planning offers teen services, including:

    • Counseling and education - we want to give you all the information you need to make educated and healthy choices for your family planning needs
    • Condom supplies and information on the correct use of condoms
    • Birth control – Family Planning offers the following methods for teens: Birth Control Pills, Diaphragm, Depo Provera Shot (DEPO), Condoms and Cycle Beads (Natural Family Planning), Nuvaring, Intrauterine Devices (IUD)
    • Emergency contraceptive pills – Emergency contraceptive pills (ECPs) also known as the morning after pill) are available at our offices. If taken within 72 – 120 hours of unprotected sex (a condom breaks, pills are forgotten), they can greatly reduce the risk of pregnancy
    • Pregnancy testing
