dog There are so many ways you can help PACC this holiday season, and the best part: several of them are FREE!

WRITE A LETTER TO THE PACC PETS
If your child is writing a letter to Santa, you can encourage them to write a letter to our PACC pets! It will be the perfect holiday gift that costs nothing! PACC has a mailbox in the lobby where kids can drop off letters to the pets. Later, staff members will be emptying the mailbox to read the letters to the pets. Your child can choose a pet to write the letter to from our list on pima.gov/adopt

ADOPT OR FOSTER A PACC PET
Can’t adopt? Fostering is a huge help, and PACC can provide all the needed supplies. To foster, read up on the details at pima.gov/foster and when you are ready, stop by the shelter to pick out a foster pet.

The pets at Pima Animal Care Center are hoping you might be their “Home for the Holidays.”

Each week of December brings a new week of potential savings:
    • December 6-12 – Potential adopters can bring in an unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots. Each toy will get an adopter a $0 adoption fee for a pet.
    • December 13-19 – Wear a holiday sweater and get a $0 adoption fee for a pet.
    • December 20-26  – All pets 4 months or older will have a $5 discount on their adoption fee.
    • December 27-31  – Name your price on pets four months or older.

    GIVING PETS AS A GIFT
People always ask us if giving a pet as a gift is a bad idea. Here’s the truth: if you involve the person, it can be an immensely meaningful gift.
    Here are some ideas:
    1. Make a coupon good for “one free adoption at PACC.” Then, let the potential adopter choose the pet they want while you cover the cost of adoption fees.
    2. Box up a stuffed toy cat or dog. Attach a tag that says you’ll cover the adoption fees.
    3. You shouldn’t ever surprise someone with a pet, especially if you aren’t 100% sure if they are ready to take on a pet. The pressure to seem happy with a gift might overwhelm them when they actually might not be ready to adopt. There are ways to keep everyone happy and get a pet out of the stressful shelter!

    PACC HOLIDAY SHOPPING
Are you still looking for the perfect holiday gift? There are several online stores where you can purchase PACC merchandise. Each purchase helps a PACC pet!
