  • Faith Based Initiatives

    Faith-Based and Community Initiatives also coordinates the following activities:

    KIOSK Program -- Computer labs, linked to the One-Stop Systems, are placed in faith based organizations to assist community residents with employment opportunities. Pima County's Faith Based Initiative has partnered with the DOL One-Stop and the Desert Waste Not Warehouse, which provides refurbished computers for the labs. Desert Waste Not Warehouse, a non-profit recycling organization, is also licensed by the Arizona State Board for Private Postsecondary Education to provide basic training in computer software and hardware.Community Outreach and Information

    The goal of Community Outreach and Information is to empower the community by providing assistance and workshops that help the community come together to effect change in their neighborhood and to improve their personal quality of life. Staff meets with residents and works with them to improve their financial literacy, encourage their sense of community and develop their leadership skills.
