Keith Bagwell, Executive Assistant
Keith Bagwell became District 5's executive assistant in early 2002 after a 23-year career as an Arizona newspaper journalist and two years working on election campaigns, writing on a free-lance basis, and working with labor unions.
He is co-chair of the National Writers Union Tucson Chapter, is on the Arizona AFL-CIO General Board, is the Sierra Club Rincon Group Conservation Chair, and is on the Sierra Club Grand Canyon Chapter Executive Committee. He is a precinct committeeman for the Pima County Democratic Party.
As a newspaperman, his assignments included 12 years as The Arizona Daily Star’s environmental reporter, five years covering the Arizona Legislature and state government in Phoenix for the Scottsdale Progress and United Press International, and stints covering city halls, courts, county governments,and on general assignment.
Keith has degrees from the University of Arizona and in his spare time reads, plays bridge and is a baseball nut. He is married to Carolyn Trowbridge and has a step daughter and three granddaughters.

Marjava Ramirez, Special Staff Assistant

Marjava Ramirez is a Special Staff Assistant to
Board of Supervisor Betty Villegas. She is the first point of contact for our constituents and departments, and oversees District 5's neighborhood outreach, media relations, community partnerships and administrative duties in the District Five office. She is fluent in Spanish.
Marjava is a native Tucsonan and has worked for Pima County for seven years. She was an Administrative Support Specialist at the Pima County Housing Center before joining the District Five team. Marjava is President of Service Employees International Union (SEIU,) where she is a strong labor-union advocate.
Marjava attended Pima Community College where she received her degree and certification for Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machine Operator. She enjoys spending time with her family, enjoys the outdoors, swimming, camping, and fishing, and is a big fan football team. She is married to Santiago Ramirez and has three sons – Santiago III, Luis and Julian Ramirez.

Nahrin Jabro, Special Staff Assistant

Nahrin Jabro is a special staff assistant to Board of Supervisor Betty Villegas. Nahrin has lived in Pima County for 22 years.
She earned a degree in social work, and worked in the behavioral health field for the last eight years assisting adults, children, and families.
Nahrin is dedicated to serving her community, especially those who are most vulnerable due to reasons beyond their control. Nahrin looks forward to working for the constituents of Pima County District 5, and using her growing knowledge of community organization to help mobilize people and neighborhoods to overcome adversity, achieve their goals, and make positive change.

Amanda Monroy, Special Staff Assistant

Amanda Monroy is a Special Staff Assistant to
Board of Supervisor Betty Villegas. Amanda was born and raised in Tucson and is excited to serve the constituents of District 5. She is passionate about Tucson and the people who live here. Before joining the D5 staff, Amanda worked in university student services and in the non-profit sector.
Amanda has degrees from both Northern Arizona University and the University of Arizona. Her educational background is in International Affairs, Collaborative Governance, and Sustainability.
In her free time Amanda enjoys being in the outdoors, listening to podcast, and traveling.
