  • Road Work on Oldfather and Massingale Roads March 2 - March 11

    Pavement PreservationBeginning Wednesday, March 2, through Friday, March 11, between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., Pima County Department of Transportation and its contractor, Sunland Asphalt & Construction, LLC, will be performing road repair work at the following locations:

    • Wednesday, March 2, through Tuesday, March 8: milling and repaving Oldfather Drive from Cortaro Farms Road to the county line, just south of Gilbert Street.
    • Tuesday, March 8, through Friday, March 11: milling and repaving Massingale Road from Star Grass Drive to end of road just east of Thornydale Road.

    The work will consist of setting traffic control and lowering utilities, followed by milling and repaving, temporary striping, and cleanup. Thermo striping is scheduled for a later date.

    Flaggers will be on site to direct, monitor and control traffic movements through the construction zone. Please approach the area with caution and obey all traffic control devices. Minor delays may occur during this work.

    In the event of mechanical failure or inclement weather, the construction schedule is subject to change.

    In Fiscal Year 2021/2022, the Pima County Board of Supervisors and Transportation Department allocated $85 million in road repair and preservation funding for the Road Repair and Preservation Program.
