The Board of Supervisors today accepted the resignation of County Administrator Chuck Huckelberry, bringing to an end 48 years of public service that included 28 years as County Administrator.

Huckelberry was injured in bicycling accident Oct. 23, suffering a significant traumatic brain injury. In a statement released to the media April 1 by the family attorney, he said he needed to focus on his recovery and end the uncertainty of his return to work.

Since it would be unwieldy to recap a 48-year storied career in a few words in a newsletter article, the County has compiled a tribute page that thanks Huckelberry for his public service and provides an overview of the major accomplishments of his career.

The page, www.pima.gov/thankschuck, includes a story about Huckelberry’s career, timelines of his employment and accomplishment, a photo retrospective, and recollections and statements of farewell from local, state, and federal government and community leaders.
