A new online portal is making it faster, simpler and more convenient for users of Pima County’s sanitary sewer system to report their concerns.
The new portal, located at https://sewerservicerequest.pima.gov/, allows county customers to submit online reports about sewer issues, choosing from a list that ranges from unwanted sewer odors to bee infestations in manholes.

“At Wastewater, we are always looking for ways to improve,” said Joe Siva, a program manager at the Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department’s Conveyance Division, which maintains and operates the public sewer system in Pima County. That led the department to take a closer look at its online customer complaint forms, he said.
“We are modernizing and enhancing the way that we engage with our community to streamline communication between customers and first responders (field staff). This new site provides a direct connection between the online portal and our service request system, with an increased focus on automation to increase response time and communication to our emergency dispatch team and field staff,” he said.
The new site enables customers to provide the department with more detailed information when they submit a request. It also allows them to register and create an account at the portal so that they can follow the progress of their request and receive status updates via email.
“This is something we'll expand on over the next year, to include automated options like customer email notifications and text message updates,” Siva said.
Any emergency issues will be responded to within an hour, but response time for other issues varies depending on the nature of the request. Roach complaints will be responded to within a few weeks, depending on the call volume and season.
“At Conveyance, we are committed to achieving comprehensive solutions for our community,” Siva said.
