  • Cooling Centers

Heat-related illness in the Arizona summer is dangerous, and can be deadly.

The cooling centers project, organized in partnership with Arizona Department of Health Services, is part of a Building Resilience Against Climate Effects (BRACE) grant from the CDC and is being implemented in coordination with the Pima County Health Department with support from the City of Tucson, Pima Association of Governments, and other regional community organizations.

Cooling centers (sometimes also called "heat refuges") are open to all, and provide a climate-controlled space to relax and re-hydrate. Many also provide food.

Find shelter, hydration and more near you

This interactive map of the Pima County Heat Relief Network shows the locations of cooling centers and hydration stations around Tucson, as well as public pools and splash pads. Check the bottom of this page for an interactive map that shows only cooling centers.
