At the March 1, 2022 Board meeting, the Pima County Board of Supervisors issued a proclamation proclaiming the month of March 2022 to be “Procurement Month” and the day of Wednesday, March 9, 2022 to be “Professional Buyer’s Day”.

This proclamation acknowledges the important work performed daily by our procurement professionals who are committed to providing high-caliber strategic, logistical, and operational support for all departments within Pima County. These professionals hold themselves to a higher standard by supporting and practicing the Public Procurement Values and Guiding Principles of Accountability, Ethics, Impartiality, Professionalism, Service, and Transparency established by NIGP—The Institute for Public Procurement which are fundamental tenets of the public procurement profession.

Due to the continued social-distancing requirements imposed by COVID-19 restrictions, the Procurement Department regrets it will not be holding its in-person open house this month. “We look forward to when we can come together again in person to network and provide education to our client departments on our procurement processes”, says Procurement Director, Terri Spencer.
